Privacy

The whole map — every place, photo, and write-up — is available without signing in. If you never sign in, we store nothing about you and set no cookies. Signing in with Google exists so your saved places follow you between devices and so we can send you the weekly new-places email.

• When you sign in with Google. Google shares your email address, name, and profile picture with Supabase, which provides our authentication and stores them. BLR CUTS itself only ever displays your email address, in the account panel.
• When you save a place. Which place it is, whether you marked it Want to go or Likes, and when.
• When you recommend a place. The place name, the Google Maps link, and the reason you typed. Recommendations are stored with no connection to your account — we cannot tell who submitted one, even if you were signed in at the time.
• Your email preference. Whether the weekly new-places email is on or off, an unsubscribe token so the link in each email works without signing in, and when we last sent one.
• What we never collect. We run no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising networks, and no third-party scripts. We do not track your location, and there is nothing to pay for, so we never handle payment details.

Your Google account signs you in. Your saves populate your saved list. Recommendations are read as editorial suggestions for places to add. Your email address receives the weekly new-places email until you switch it off. That is the whole of it: we do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone, and the email provider we send through sees only your address and the message.

When you are signed in, Supabase Auth sets a single session cookie that keeps you signed in and is refreshed as you browse. That is the only cookie BLR CUTS sets. There are no analytics or advertising cookies, and signed-out visitors receive no cookies at all.

• Supabase — authentication, and the database holding both the map and your saved places.
• Google — sign-in only. Google tells us who you are; we tell Google nothing about what you do on the map.
• Resend — delivers the weekly email. It receives your address and the message body, nothing about what you do on the map.
• Vercel — hosting. Like any web host, it keeps standard server logs that include IP addresses.
• OpenFreeMap — map tiles. These are proxied through our own server, so your browser never connects to the tile provider directly and the provider never sees your IP address.

Saved places stay until you remove them or ask us to delete your account. Deleting your account deletes your saved places along with it, and that removal is enforced by the database itself rather than by a cleanup we have to remember to run.

Recommendations are kept as editorial notes. Because they carry no link to your account, we have no way to find yours in order to remove them on request.

If what we collect changes, we will update this page and the date under the title will change with it.
